ProCook ranked among the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing

ProCook has been ranked among the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing (2022) by Great Place to Work®, the global authority on workplace culture. The accolade was awarded following the results of an in-depth employee survey shared with the kitchenware retailer’s 700 strong workforce that measured satisfaction levels in several key areas deemed crucial for wellbeing. ProCook is headquartered locally in Gloucester and employs around 200 people in the area.

With an overall positivity rating of 83%, ProCook scored over 80% in many key focus areas including leadership behaviour and effectiveness, communication, camaraderie and community. Employees felt that management was honest and ethical in its business practices, and that people were treated fairly, regardless of their sexual orientation, race, gender and age. The survey showed that team morale was high at all levels of the business, with employees mentioning the friendliness of their colleagues, clear lines of communication to support a range of personal and professional challenges, and a welcoming onboarding process for new starters amongst the top reasons for workplace satisfaction.

To determine the companies that ranked on the UK's Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing list, Great Place to Work’s culture experts analysed thousands of employee surveys from across the UK, assessing people’s holistic experiences of wellbeing at work by asking employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfillment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security.

HR & ESG Director Sarah Wheatley said:
'We’ve all been aware that ProCook is a ‘great place to work’ for some time and ranking on the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing list is validation of what we already knew to be true, but it’s great to see this recognised externally. The past two years have been particularly challenging for all employers and we’ve gone to great lengths to ensure our teams are fully supported both at home and in the workplace. We’ll continue to prioritise our people, putting their needs at the core of the business along with our customers, to ensure we continue to offer the best products and services we can.”

'Being better for people is better for business, especially in tough times,” explained Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® UK. 'When employees feel genuinely cared for, their loyalty, engagement and productivity improve. Happier people also become brand advocates for the business and will often go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for their clients and customers. We’re delighted to launch our first-ever UK's Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing list in 2022, shining a light on the 250 companies who have succeeded in ensuring staff experience high levels of wellbeing across the organisation. Hopefully this recognition and acknowledgement will inspire more workplaces to do the same in years to come.”
