The ProCook Cookery School Launches Exciting New Classes with Baking Talent Steven Carter-Bailey

Rising star Steven Carter-Bailey of Bake-Off fame, is teaming up with The ProCook Cookery School to offer baking enthusiasts the chance to learn his secret baking tips. As the latest talented culinary skill at the cookery school he will be focussing on the bakes that everyone loves.

From the art of pastry making to whisking up a showstopping cake, Steven’s classes give guests the confidence to recreate some of that baking magic at home. The in-person classes will be held at the ProCook Cookery School which is situated on Tottenham Court Road in London, priced at £149 for a full day class.

Described by Prue Leith as 'A joy to work with, and one hell of a baker”, celebrity cake baker Steven brings his talents to the cookery school following an impressive culinary career over recent years which begun when he placed as runner up on The Great British Bake Off in 2017. Since then, Steven has forged a successful occasion cake business with Sir Ian McKellen and Jonathan Van Ness amongst his celebrity clients. He regularly appears at food festivals and demonstrations across the country, and hosts the Feed my Curiosity podcast.

Covering everything from essential pastry and baking techniques to classic cakes and desserts and with an emphasis on mastering core skills that can be applied at home, the baking classes will launch in April 2022 featuring some speciality Easter treats.
A beautiful and bright space designed to ignite a passion for cooking, the ProCook Cookery School aims to inspire and engage its student, learning new cooking skills in a fun environment and culminating in a not to be forgotten dining experience.

Perfect Pastry
The Perfect Pastry class has been designed to completely remove the fear of pastry making and to help home bakers feel confident. With focus on light rough puff, flaky shortcrust and delicate sweet pastry, Steven can help to master quiches and pies without a soggy bottom in sight.During the class, you’ll learn everything from resting, rolling and shaping pastry to making fillings, how to glaze and crimp, and even how to store and freeze your bakes.

Baking Confidence
New starters to the world of baking or those would like a little extra confidence to take their bakes to the next level will love the Baking Confidence class. This all-day course covers the core baking techniques you need to get started on a rewarding journey to baking brilliance.
Steven aims to dispel myths, offer practical advice and handy tips and hints to avoid those kitchen nightmares.

Classic Cakes
If you’re looking to inject the wow factor into your favourite cake recipes, or you’re a novice wishing to join the baking revolution, then Classic Cakes is perfect for you.
In this class, you’ll learn so many different tips and techniques to create a classic cake, from creaming methods and shaping your bakes to correctly prepping your cake tins and making those all important final flourishes.

Divine Desserts
A fun and creative class that aims to make desserts that stand out from the crowd, Divine Desserts class will teach you to master classic puddings. From mid-week simple sweets to dinner party worthy delights, you’ll learn to create delicious desserts everyone will want to dive in to. This class will explore different methods to suit your style of baking, along with how to add your own touches and flavours.
