Grilled Sausages With Caramelised Onions

8 sausages
30 g butter
220 g onions, halved and sliced
3 large apples - peeled, cored, and cut into thin wedges
30 ml Bensons Archie's Strong Cider
25 g brown sugar
salt and pepper to season

Preparation Method

Turn the grill to medium heat


With a fork, poke the sausages several times. Place in a pot, cover with water, and simmer over medium-high heat until cooked through which should be about 7 minutes. Remove from heat, and set aside.


Warm the butter in a pan over medium heat. Stir in the onions, and cook until soft and translucent. Stir in the apples, cider, and, brown sugar; cook, for about 10-15 minutes stirring gently until caramelized, Season with salt and pepper.


Meanwhile, place the sausages under the grill and cook until well browned. Serve on a mound of the caramelised apples and onions with mashed potato and peas.
