Care Instructions
CAUTION: this product includes extremely sharp blades and should be handled with caution Children should always be supervised when using the Potato Chipper.
Parts included :
1) Stainless steel potato chipper
2) Stainless steel blade grid forchunky chips
3) Black plastic pusher plate or chunky chips
4) Stainless steel blade grid for regular chips
5) Black plastic pusher plate for regular chips
Before using
Wash all parts with warm soapy water and towel dry thoroughly before first use.
To change the blades
Lift handle to the vertical position
Unlock the blade grid by rotating the blade lock upwards as far as possible
Remove the blade grid by sliding it up holding the blade handle
Holding the blade handle, slide the alternative blade grid into the carriage, ensuring the sharp edges face inward (toward the black plastic pusher plate)
Lock the blade lock by rotating it downwards until it clicks into place securing the blade grid
To change the pusher plate
Unfasten the pusher plate lock on the back of the plate by rotating the lever in a clockwise direction to a vertical position.
Remove the pusher plate and replace with the appropriate size.
Clip the pusher plate in position making sure the hooks poke through the stainless steel plate.
Rotate the pusher plate lock in a anti-clockwise direction, ensuring that the lock fully twists into the black plastic clips of the pusher plate.
To affix to a countertop
First check that the suction lever is pointing towards the blade grid
Then place the potato chipper on a flat, smooth and dry surface and press down firmly
Rotate the suction lever anti-clockwise to activate the suction base
Operating instructions
Lift up the handle and place the raw potato in between the black pusher plate and the stainless steel blade grid
This may require pre-cutting the potato to fit
Push down on the handle to force the potato through the blades
Helpful tip
Sometimes it helps to spray a little cooking oil on the blades to lubricate before use. Harder varieties such as sweet potatoes should be par boiled for 10 minutes prior.
Maintenance and cleaning
For best results wash by hand using a soft dish brush and warm soapy water taking care when handling the blades. Dry thoroughly immediately after washing. The blade grids and pusher plates are dishwasher safe - remove and hand dry when the dishwasher cycle has completed.
