Easy
Make juicy burgers in a matter of minutes with our air fryer burger recipe. Perfect for a quick meal or when the weather doesn’t go as planned and the BBQ is no longer an option.
Our classic burger recipe will make your mouth water. Top with your favourite cheese, pickles, lettuce, sesame buns and our homemade burger sauce. You can even serve our air fryer burgers along with crispy wedges.
What you'll need...
- 100g mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
- 3 tbsp pickles, minced
- 250g lean beef mince
- 20g onion, finely chopped
- ½ tsp dried mixed herbs
- 2 slices mature cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp smoked paprika, optional
- 2 sesame buns
- Lettuce
Method
Make the burger sauce. Combine the mayonnaise, tomato sauce and minced pickles in a bowl. Store in the fridge until ready to serve with the burgers.
Combine the beef, onion, salt and pepper, mixed herbs and paprika in a bowl.
Divide the beef into 2 equal portions and press into flat patties. Make sure the burgers are evenly sized – you can weigh them. Make a divot in the centre of each burger by using your thumb – this can keep them from swelling and keeps them burger-shaped.
Preheat the air fryer to 170C. Place the burgers into the basket and make sure they’re not touching. Air fry for 8 minutes. You shouldn’t need to flip the burgers.
Add the slices of cheese to the burgers and allow to cook for a further 2 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
If you wish, you can quickly toast the sesame buns in the air fryer for a minute.
Assemble the burgers by adding the burger to the toasted buns and topping with the burger sauce and lettuce. Add red onion and tomato slices if you desire.
