Your guide to New Year's Eve entertaining

New Year‘s Eve is the final gathering of the festive season. There‘s no need for a complicated menu or hours in the kitchen. A table filled with food to share, drinks ready to pour and a few thoughtful touches are all it takes to welcome the New Year with family and friends.

Have the first drink ready

Welcome everyone with a favourite cocktail or a glass of fizz. Chill drinks well in advance, stock up on ice and prepare garnishes ahead of time, so all that's left to do is pour and enjoy.

Bring it together with: Champagne flutes, cocktail glasses, ice cube trays and bar tools.

Build a grazing table

Scatter bowls of olives, nuts, crisps and breadsticks alongside canapés and sweet treats to create a table that feels abundant from the start. With plenty to nibble on, guests can dip in and out without interrupting the conversation.

Whether you are making or buying your canapes, a rule of 4-6 each per person is a good place to start.

Bring it together with: Serving bowls, platters, boards and tiered stands.

Create a cheeseboard worth gathering around

A generous cheeseboard makes an effortless centrepiece. Combine a selection of cheeses with crackers, chutneys, grapes, figs and nuts, then let guests help themselves throughout the evening.

Bring it together with: Cheeseboards, cheese knives, serving bowls and serving boards.

Add one warm dish to share

As the evening settles in, serve one warm dish for everyone to share. A bubbling baked Camembert with warm bread, roasted garlic and rosemary feels generous without adding hours of preparation, giving guests another reason to gather around the table.

Bring it together with: Camembert cheese baker, serving boards and cheese knives.

        Save something special for midnight

As midnight approaches, refresh the drinks, light a few extra candles and have Champagne ready to pour. A beautifully arranged tray of glasses means everyone can raise a toast together as the New Year begins.

Bring it together with: Champagne flutes, serving trays and ice buckets.
