Hot honey bean hummus

Creamy cannellini beans are blended until smooth, then lifted with nutty tahini, lemon and garlic. Finished with a drizzle of warm chilli-infused honey, this hummus balances heat and sweetness for a bold, crowd-pleasing dip perfect for sharing.

We recommend dipping carrot sticks, celery and rustic breads in this hot honey dip, but you can also use this hummus to top salads or burgers too.

What you'll need...

For the hummus

  • 400g tin of cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1-2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Water, as needed
  • Salt and pepper

For the hot honey

  • 150g runny honey
  • 1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp red or white wine vinegar

Method

  1. Start by making hot honey. Add all of the ingredients to a small saucepan and warm over a medium heat for 3-5 minutes. Remove from the heat to cool and infuse.

  2. Add the hummus ingredients (except the water) to a food processor and blend until smooth. Add water a little at a time until you reach a soft, creamy consistency. Season to taste.

  3. Blend through 1–2 tbsp of the hot honey into the hummus, then transfer to a serving bowl. Drizzle over the remaining hot honey to serve.
