Mini Spanish tapas recipes

Enjoy the taste of Spain in the comfort of your own home with our 3 mini tapas recipes. Our Spanish tapas recipes include Spanish fried mushrooms, stuffed red peppers and patatas bravas.

These tapas dishes can be served alongside a main dish like paella or be enjoyed with a lighter lunch like a crisp salad. Mix and match or make all 3, the choice is yours.

What you'll need...

Spanish fried mushrooms

  • 250g sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 20g chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, for seasoning

Stuffed red peppers

  • 4 large red peppers
  • 80g capers
  • 80g green olives
  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 20g chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Patatas bravas

  • 200g new potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp chilli flakes
  • 1 tin of tomatoes

Method

  1. For the Spanish fried mushrooms: Sauté 250g of sliced mushrooms in 2 tbsp olive oil for 5 mins. Add 4 chopped garlic cloves, 2 tsp smoked paprika, salt and pepper and cook 1-2 more mins. Toss in chopped parsley. Serve.

  2. For the stuffed red peppers: Halve 4 red peppers, bake at 200°C for 10 mins. Blend olives, capers, garlic, parsley, almonds, chili, salt and pepper and olive oil in the mini chopper. Mix 1 cup with breadcrumbs. Fill peppers and bake again for 10-15 mins.  

  3. For the patatas bravas: Boil cubed potatoes for 5 mins, then roast or fry till crispy. Make sauce by sautéing onion and garlic, paprika and chili flakes for 5 minutes. Add tomatoes and simmer for another 7 minutes. Blend the sauce until smooth and add to a serving bowl. Pour the fried potatoes onto the sauce and serve.
