Getting the most from your Professional Blue Steel Cookware
Step 1: Wash the cookware thoroughly
Wash the pan in hot water and dry thoroughly
Step 2: General instructions for use
Our blue steel products are designed to effectively handle both high and low temperatures. Due to their exceptional heat distribution, they will quickly reach the desired temperature without relying on a high heat source.
Over time, your pan will build up a dark patina and the more you use it, the more it will build up its non-stick performance.
This pan is not dishwasher safe. A dishwasher’s high intensity cleaning process can strip away the pans seasoning layer.
Extra special care should be taken on ceramic hobs not to move pans around once placed on the hob to prevent possible scratching. Scratched hobs are not covered by your ProCook guarantee.
Step 3: Guidelines for cleaning your Blue Steel Cookware
1. Deglaze your pan with boiling water and a high heat, using a wooden utensil to remove any stuck-on food.
2. Avoid soap or abrasive cleaners: our blue steel pans are seasoned and continue to build up a non-stick surface over time. Using soap or abrasive cleaners can strip away this seasoning layer.
3. Dry thoroughly with a clean towel to prevent rusting. Once the pan is completely dry, apply a thin layer of oil to help maintain its seasoning and store in a dry place.
Please note, your pan has come pre-seasoned but if you need to season your pans non-stick interior, we recommend following these guidelines:
Once your pan is clean and dried thoroughly, add a small amount of oil and rub across the whole internal surface of the pan with kitchen towel until there is no excess. Heat the pan until the oil smokes then remove from heat, wash with warm water and dry thoroughly. Repeat until you have built up a few visible layers, then your pan is ready to use again.
