How to organise pots and pans in small kitchens

Keeping your kitchen organised is a common challenge for many, especially if you’re working with limited space. Fortunately, there are many simple fixes, whether it’s storing them in your cabinet, hanging them on the wall or placing them on shelving.

Here are a few storage ideas for you to consider.

Tuck them away in kitchen cabinets and drawers

Kitchen cabinets and drawers are the go-to for many households because it maximises kitchen space, protects cookware from damage and dust while keeping your pans within reach.

A common issue when stacking cookware in kitchen cabinets is scratching off the non-stick or enamel coatings and causing general damage. To prevent such damage, we recommend using Pan Protectors, which are made from a soft felt that sit between your pans and create a barrier.

Hang your pots and pans from the wall

Using a pan rail (or rack) to store your pans is a practical and stylish kitchen storage solution, especially for those who have smaller kitchens or have very limited cabinet space.

By using unused wall space, you free up drawer, cabinet and countertop space for other kitchenware, while keeping your pans safe and within reach. A pan rail also keeps your cookware safe, preventing you from stacking them on top of each other which can cause damage to the non-stick coating if not properly protected by Pan Protectors.

Open shelving for frequently used cookware

Shelving in the kitchen can be extremely helpful, creating a place to store anything from cookware to crockery, cookbooks and jars filled with ingredients. By storing on shelves, they’re easily accessible, which is ideal for frequently used items. When stacking, be sure to use Pan Protectors to ensure a safe barrier between pans, avoiding any bumps and scratches that could damage the interior of the pan.

Shelving can also be handy for those who may not be able to bend down to access low cabinets, creating a more accessible space.
